As children in Palm Beach County prepare for the spring break holiday, a group of more than 25 students on Friday morning will get a chance to see the inner workings of the local court system with a special “Take Your Child to Work” event.
Organized and sponsored by the Florida Association for Women Lawyers, the event allows lawyers, court workers and staff to bring their children to watch court proceedings and learn more about how local courts work.
Parents and children will meet at the main courthouse Friday in downtown West Palm Beach at 11:15 a.m.
They will then visit the ceremonial courtroom on the 11th floor to watch Judge Samantha Schosberg Feuer hold a few hearings.
The event will conclude with lunch in the courthouse cafeteria, where Feuer, Judge Daliah Weiss, and Judge Kirk C. Volker will lead a conversation on the importance of civic duty and answer questions from the children.
